The company McLaren came up with the name for its most extreme supercar, which is currently known under the designation BP23 Hyper-GT. The novelty will go on sale under the name Speedtail and will be the fastest car in the history of the British brand, surpassing the speed of the famous McLaren F1.
The new hypercar will be positioned as an ideological successor to F1. He will receive a three-seater salon, where the driver’s seat will be located in the middle, and two passenger – on the sides slightly behind.
The car will receive a hybrid gasoline-electric power unit, details of which have not yet been reported. According to preliminary data, the basis for it will be a four-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which is now used on the supercar 720S. The maximum speed of the car will be 391 km per hour. For comparison, the maximum F1 is 389 km per hour.
A total of 106 Speedtail copies will be released, all of which have already been reserved. Production of new items will begin at the end of next year. According to unofficial data, the cost of the car is 2.5 million dollars.
