McLaren built an exclusive supercarMarch 25, 2020
The presentation of another “memorable” variation of the Elva speedster design, which was developed by the McLaren Special Operations (MSO), took place. Now the supercar has received the shade of the racing conceptual model M6A, which for 5 years in a row shone in the Can-Am series and the first acquired orange in the McLaren line.
The release of the debut orange McLaren occurred in 1967. Painting the racing concept in the shade of Papaya Orange was the initiative of the team manager Edward Mayer – according to the plan, thanks to the bright livery, the car should become more noticeable. The MP4 / 12 car of the 1997 season was painted in a similar color, and 2009 was marked by the appearance in the colors of the brand of the new Volcano Orange shade. A couple of years later, the colors McLaren Orange, Papaya Spark and Azores appeared in the palette.
The exclusive Elva variation has the Anniversary Orange hue, which is diluted with a gray stripe and the numbers “4”. It is in such a color that the spectacular “flow” of doors and fairings into the passenger compartment is especially noticeable, and the bucket seats with white upholstery are a contrast against this background. Judging by the pictures, the open “2-door” also acquired nameplates and pressed carbon fiber.
The Elva model has a 4.0 liter V8 engine, which has 2 turbochargers with an output of 815 hp. and 800 Nm of torque. Along with it operates a 7-band preselective robotic transmission. Up to 100 km / h the car accelerates in less than 3 seconds.
A feature of the car is an active system that controls air flow, AAMS (Active Air Management System), Its ability is to form an air “dome” above the cockpit.
