McLaren 765LT is faster than expected

In the segment in which the McLaren 765LT operates, tenths of a second determine its place “in the food chain”. This is another reason why the manufacturer is attentive to the characteristics of the 765LT. McLaren said the new Longtail covered the quarter mile in less than ten seconds.

When we think McLaren has reached the pinnacle of performance with the 720S, the Walking company proves that it has yet to rise. The refreshed McLaren 765LT in the latest hardcore Longtail is essentially a more extreme 720s variant. McLaren plans to build a total of 765 of these for series production in 2020, and all of these cars are already sold out. Production is also scheduled for 2021, but the number of interested customers already exceeds the number of cars that McLaren plans to build.

McLaren just unveiled the staggering specs of the 765LT, and it’s easy to see why the car sold out so quickly. Some of the performance estimates that the company announced during the presentation of the 765LT were quite conservative. The car accelerated to 100 km / h in 2.7 seconds and to 200 km / h in 7 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds better than the initial estimate. In addition, the sports car covered the quarter-mile distance in just 9.9 seconds.

Assembly of the 765LT has already begun at the McLaren Manufacturing Center in Woking, UK, and deliveries will begin in late September. The first examples will showcase exclusive McLaren Special Operations details. One of the cars combines MSO Bespoke Tarmac Black and Tokyo Cyan paint with Visual Carbon Fiber components. McLaren says carbon will be available in several shades.

The second MSO car is called the Strata Theme and features an art in motion graphic inspired by the cityscape. The orange base paint is blended with Memphis Red and Cherry black, while the brake calipers use a combination of Volcano Red at the front and Azores Orange at the rear. Other individual MSO combinations will certainly follow.
