Mazda6 received a new turbodiesel

Mazda has once again updated the model Atenza, which in other countries is known as the Mazda6. Changes affected the composition of the power scale, replenished with a new engine on heavy fuel.

The Japanese manufacturer revealed details of the restyling of the model of Atiens for the home market. Recall, Atenza of the current generation was introduced in 2012 and this update for it has become the fourth. The updated six-cylinder engine received a revised front end with a massive chrome molding, which acts as a frame for the radiator grille and goes into optics.

In Japan, Atenza will be offered with several engines, gearboxes, front-wheel and all-wheel drive. The base will be a petrol two-liter engine with a payback of 165 hp and 210 Nm in combination with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Another petrol engine with a capacity of 2.5 liters develops 190 hp and 252 Nm. A turbo engine of 2.5 liters (250 hp and 420 Nm), offered from Mazda6 in the US market, is not available for Atenza.

The most variable bi-turbo diesel with capacity of 2.2 liters, the return is 190 hp and 450 Nm. By the way, the pre-reform engine of the same volume produced 175 hp and 420 Nm. The diesel version of Atenza is offered with 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission, with front and all wheel drive.

In addition, the front and rear suspension of the car was modified, as the manufacturer claims, that it improved the driving characteristics of the car. Improvements included strengthening the points of attachment of suspension elements, the installation of shock absorbers of increased diameter and the replacement of a series of silent blocks with polyurethane. To enhance noise insulation, some internal parts of the body structure are made of thicker metal.

The base Mazda Atenza with a 2.0 petrol engine and automatic transmission costs 2.8 million yen, replacing the engine with option 2.5 raises the cost to 3.5 million yen. Approximately the same is the most affordable diesel version. The top version is also equipped with a diesel engine and costs 4.1 million yen.
