Mazda updated crossover CX-4October 9, 2019
The compact all-terrain vehicle was transformed externally and received a new media system
The Chinese company FAW-Mazda showed a restyled version of the CX-4 cross-coupe. The model retained the dimensions of its predecessor, but acquired new bumpers, a radiator grille and diode optics, and also received a different design for the exhaust system.
The cross-coupe CX-4 for the Chinese market, designed on the basis of the CX-5 of the previous generation, debuted in 2016. The updated model is made in a new corporate style – a recognizable image in the style of the current CX-5 creates a mesh radiator grill, the shape of the navigation lights, as well as the pattern of the headlights and taillights.
New trim materials appeared in the cabin, a black and red color scheme of the interior was added, and the multimedia complex changed: the seven-inch display gave way to an eight-inch display with expanded functionality.
The technical filling of the all-terrain vehicle remained untouched: under the hood, the atmospheric engines of the Skyactiv-G line of 2.0 liters (158 horsepower) and 2.5 liters (192 horsepower) are still. The transmission has no alternative: only a six-speed automatic gearbox. The front-wheel drive CX-4 is sold with a “younger” engine, and all-wheel drive is the prerogative of a 2.5-liter power unit.
In China, the updated CX-4 will go on sale in November. With restyling, the model is expected to rise in price: if the prices for the current cross-coupe start at 141 thousand yuan, then the 2020 version of the model year will cost at least 156 thousand yuan. Mazda does not plan to export the CX-4 to other countries.
