Mazda introduced a “black” special series of several modelsDecember 4, 2020
Mazda has developed a new special version of the Black Tone Edition for four models at once: the CX-5 and CX-8 crossovers, the Mazda 2 hatchback and the Mazda 6 sedan. It stands out with black decorative elements. The crossovers have also been slightly updated.
Cars in this design differ from conventional glossy black painted mirrors and wheel rims (16 “for Mazda 2 and 19” for all others). In the interior, bright red stitching is used to create a more “sporty” mood.
The front panel of the CX-8 has a decorative trim with a pattern in the form of hexagons. In addition to this, some models received chrome elements in the area of the window regulator.
Along the way, with the announcement of the Black Tone Edition, a small update of the CX-5 and CX-8 crossovers was presented. They have an improved Mazda Connect media system with a screen diagonal of 8.8 or 10.25 inches. The system has learned to work in tandem with smartphones.
The diesel 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D engine, available for everyone except the “two”, slightly increased in output: now it develops 200 hp. and 450 Nm instead of 190 hp. and 445 Nm.
In Japan, prices for Black Tone Edition cars start at ¥ 1,798,000 for the Mazda 2, ¥ 3,283,500 for the Mazda 6, ¥ 3,041,500 for the CX-5 and ¥ 3,616,800 for the CX-8.
Recall that the CX-8 is an extended version of the CX-5, produced for the domestic market in Japan and some Asian countries.
