Mazda CX-5 received a minor updateJune 22, 2020
Changes in the exterior are the appearance of new nameplates and the Polymetal Gray palette in colors. The main innovations concerned the technical part and equipment of the model.
The diagonal of the display of the infotainment complex was increased from 7 to 8 inches, a new interior lighting was installed, and a combined upholstery of chairs with fabric and leatherette became available. In addition, they improved the noise insulation of the cabin, and a damper appeared in the steering mechanism for gasoline variations, which reduces the level of vibration coming to the steering wheel.
At the moment, the upgraded Mazda CX-5 is presented only in the European specification, and the engine lineup has not changed here. So, the cross is still equipped with atmospheric engines 2.0 (165 hp) and 2.5 (194 hp), and another 2.2 turbodiesel in two versions (150 or 184 hp).
For the 2.0-liter powertrain, the Skyactiv-G received a two-cylinder shut-off system at low loads. Such a system makes it possible to reduce fuel costs, but only cars with manual transmission have it. Variations with all-wheel drive received an “off-road” Off-road Traction Assist system that simulates differential locks to improve cross-country ability.
Finally, the CX-5 recalibrated the light sensor: it activates the headlights earlier than before. And the automatic braking system has now become better at recognizing pedestrians in the dark.
Sales of the updated Mazda CX-5 in Europe will start soon.
In addition, it was recently noted that Mazda presented the updated BT-50 pickup. The cost of new items should be announced later.
