The Japanese brand Mazda is preparing to introduce a restyling version of the CX-5 crossover, but the model received not only light facelift, but also some serious improvements. Now the model will receive a new Skyactiv-G engine, and the G-Vectoring Control Plus system.
Already in a short time the market will release an updated version of the crossover Mazda CX-5 2019 model year. The car will be more in line with the spirit of the times and the fresh corporate design with a massive grille and narrowed front optics. However, the changes in design are not so obvious and noticeable, and the main emphasis was on technical improvements.
The updated version will receive a turbo engine from the brand line of Skyactiv-G units with a volume of 2.5 liters. The engine features power up to 254 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. The engine will be borrowed from the older model CX-9. Coupled with the engine will work a six-speed automatic transmission. Also as an additional option will be offered a full drive system.
Of course, the old engine line will remain in place, and the model will also be offered with atmospheric 2.0 and 2.5 liter engines capable of developing up to 149 and 194 horsepower. All units are characterized by high efficiency and fuel economy.
The list of additional equipment Mazda CX-5 2019 model year will be supplemented with the proprietary stabilization system G-Vectoring Control Plus. This system is able in an automatic mode to redistribute the torque between the wheels, which greatly increases the controllability and stability of the car on difficult sections of the road.
Another update will be a new version of the infotainment system with a large screen and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto already in the standard equipment.
Sales of new items will begin before the end of this year, but the restyling crossover Mazda CX-5 will be available only in the US and Canada
