Can you believe that almost 15 years have passed since the debut of the Maybach Exelero luxury concept car? Made with specialists from the then-German-American concern Daimler Chrysler, the car still looks amazing after all these years.

Most recently, our editorial team found a video showing Maybach Exelero, which was transported by a car carrier. Did you know that an order for the development of the Maybach Exelero luxury concept came from one of the Goodyear tire manufacturer’s divisions. The company wanted to test the new Carat Exelero tire family and asked the German concern Daimler to create a prototype capable of speeds exceeding 350 km / h.

The concept was based on the Maybach 57 production model, and the final design was created by four students from the local design academy.

Under the hood of the concept was a 5.9-liter twin-turbo V12 engine with three valves per cylinder. The peak power was 690 horsepower (1000 Nm) – it is reported that this power was enough to accelerate the 2660-kilogram coupe from standstill to a speed of 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. Exelero had a set of 23-inch Fulda Carat Exelero tires in size 315/25 ZR 23.

Insiders report that rapper Brian Williams bought the car for $ 8 million. The video says that the concept still drives its original tires and is no longer able to reach high speeds, but in 2005 he managed to overcome the mark of 350 km / h.
