Maverick Viñales wins first race of the season in MotoGP, Rossi 12thMarch 29, 2021
The talented Spaniard announced himself several years ago, but this year it seems he is really ready to fight for the title.
The 2021 season kicked off in MotoGP motorcycle racing. The championship was opened by a race in Qatar. Recall that the six-time world champion Marc Marquez will miss the first two races of the season. During this time, other pilots will have time to make a little groundwork.
The victory at the first stage was won by the pilot of the Yamaha factory team, Maverick Viñales. Joanne Zarco and Francesco Bagnaya from Ducati took the podium with him. The latter started from pole position. In general, the struggle turned out to be very tight – the first 10 riders were able to fit in 10 seconds. There were no such results for a very long time.
The reigning world champion Joan Mir finished fourth, starting from 10th position. The race was not very successful for the Frenchman Fabio Cuartararo – with the second position at the start, he was able to finish only fifth. Recall that the 2020 season began with two victories of the Frenchman.
Legendary Italian racer Valentino Rossi performed even weaker. The doctor had an excellent qualification – the fourth time, and in the race he was able to finish only 12th.
The fight this season promises to be very tight, unless, of course, Marquez returns and starts churning out one victory after another. The second stage will take place in Doha and will take place next weekend.
