Maserati MC20 spotted on Ferrari test trackDecember 11, 2020
Maserati is ending its powertrain partnership with Ferrari, but the two Italian brands remain close friends.
For a great example of how Italian carmakers Maserati and Ferrari still have good relations, watch the video of the upcoming Maserati MC20 supercar racing the Ferrari Fiorano test track.
The video shows a pair of MC20s on the track. One of them is white and has no camouflage, except for covering part of the rear wing on each side. For the most part, the pilot moves around the track fairly quickly in a mid-engined sports coupe, occasionally decelerating harder than necessary. This suggests that something special is being evaluated in the car.
Another MC20 is completely disguised and spends time in another part of the track, where the driver throws the car into all kinds of drifts, which looks very interesting. These things usually happen when engineers tweak the stability and traction control parameters, as well as other electronic driving assistance systems.
The MC20 is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 621 hp. and 729 Newton meters of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. Maserati claims the car accelerates to 100 kilometers per hour in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 323 km / h.
The Maserati MC20 will go on sale next year, so there is still time to tweak the electronic controls and suspension settings. American dealers will offer the newest car at a price of $ 210,000. Later, there will be a convertible version, as well as an all-electric version of the MC20.
