A novelty from the Italian brand will be released next year and will compete with the Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
Test specimens of the future Maserati Levante GTS in spotted camouflage are already traveling on public roads. This means that the world premiere of a charged Italian crossover is close – at a distance of six months. Spy photos were at the disposal of Autocar.
The new version of the SUV will inherit a 3.8-liter V8 engine with a twin turbocharger from the Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari. By the way, this motor Maserati already applies in the flagship sedan Quattroporte GTS, where it produces 523 horsepower.
Thanks to the new powertrain, the Levante GTS will be within reach of the 542-horsepower Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the future Range Rover Velar SVR, which can also receive an engine of the same power.
The competition in the segment of charged medium-sized crossovers will definitely increase in the next year. And the Italian will be able to bribe the consumer with individual chassis settings, a more sporting mode of operation of his air suspension. Also, the Maserati Levante GTS will differ from the standard versions with an aggressive aerodynamic body kit, larger wheel disks. Inside will be present inserts from the carbon. Also in the coming years in the Maserati lineup there will be another more compact crossover.
