Maserati introduced a hybrid version of the Levante crossover

The official presentation of the hybrid version of the Maserati Levante crossover took place. The new Levante received an electrified four-cylinder engine with 330 hp.

Back in July last year, Maserati introduced a moderate-hybrid version of the Ghibli sedan, and now, apparently, the turn has come to the Levante crossover. At the heart of the electrified powertrain of the novelty is a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with four cylinders and a mild hybrid setup. In the sedan, the hybrid engine produces 330 horsepower at 5,750 rpm, but 450 Nm of torque becomes available much earlier at 2,250 rpm, rather than 4,000 rpm as is the case with the sedan. This prompts the automaker from Modena, Italy to say that “The Levante Hybrid has diesel torque at low revs, offering the smooth acceleration of a six-cylinder petrol engine.”

Acceleration from zero to 100 km / h takes exactly six seconds and a top speed of 240 km / h.

Those numbers are slightly worse than the Ghibli sedan’s 5.7-second sprint and top speed of 254.22 km / h, but that’s to be expected since the Levante Hybrid is heavier – it weighs 2,090 kilograms.

Equipped with four-wheel drive, air suspension and a mechanical limited slip differential at the rear as standard equipment, the Maserati Levante Hybrid delivers V6-like performance while reducing fuel consumption by 16%.

The body of the novelty is painted in a new three-layer metallic blue shade called Azzurro Astro, complemented by blue accents visible on the three side air intakes, brake calipers and the logo that adorns the C-pillar. The Levante Hybrid features 21-inch rims and uses the updated headlights introduced for the 2021 model year. Maserati is already taking orders in Europe with deliveries starting in June.

Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that an early prototype of the 2022 Maserati GranTurismo was spotted. Western publications have published photos of the 2022 Maserati GranTurismo model year. A test prototype of the Italian novelty used a modified Alfa Romeo Giulia body.
