The press service of the Italian brand continues the teaser company dedicated to the new supercar MC20. The photo shows a camouflaged prototype of the novelty.

Maserati is developing a new supercar, which is known as the MC20, and the Italian automaker continues to “warm up” public interest in this car. The novelty was announced at the beginning of this year. It was this month that her official presentation was to be held, but the Maserati management decided to postpone the debut of the car until September, the blame for the outbreak of coronavirus. However, this did not prevent the automaker from once again publishing photos of the camouflaged prototype of its new product.

Today, the automaker announced that it will devote a unique prototype of the MC20 to British rider Sir Stirling Moss, who died April 12 at the age of 90.

The prototype will use a design borrowed from the Maserati Eldorado, which was piloted by Mr. Moss during his debut in racing – it was in 1958. Maserati and the British rider have a long history of cooperation – Mr. Moss was behind the wheel of other Maserati cars: Tipo 60 Birdcage, Tipo 61, and 300 S.

The photos of the MC20 supercar published a couple of hours ago show a supercar still covered with camouflage, and it can be seen that there are special false panels on its body in order to further hide the real shape of the body. However, the published photos provide our good look at the back of the car. Camouflage hides most of the taillights, but we see their design. On the roof is a bright red Maserati trident, and on the swirling camouflage is the inscription Stirling Moss.

The latest rumor suggests that Maserati is developing its own twin-turbo V6 for the MC20. It can generate more than 600 horsepower, and supposedly it will be combined with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Other rumors hint that the new product will receive a hybrid powerplant or even a fully electric version.
