Designer Samuele Errico Piccarini created a render of the famous GT model of the Trident, mixing Heritage and modern lines

Maserati MC20 has left many speechless, thanks to its lines that combine tradition and modernity, giving life to a model that undoubtedly projects the Trident into a new era, also thanks to an engine that promises to be a turning point for everything. what will come out of the Modena factory in the next few years. A new course therefore and a stylistic language that is preparing to influence the models of the Italian car manufacturer.

However, there are those who do not want to put everything behind them immediately, still strongly believing in the stylistic features that have characterized Maserati in recent years. Hence the project by Samuele Errico Piccarini, who thanks to his talent gave life to the Maserati GranTurismo Targa, a concept car that imagines in a revolutionary way what could be the next generation of the famous Trident model. Luxury and sportiness come together, also celebrating the tradition of the Italian brand.

The Maserati GranTurismo Targa concept is front-engined, just like the current generation, but boasts an elongated and particularly pronounced bonnet, with the passenger compartment that inevitably finds its place further back in the car body. It then inherits the so-called “floating roof” from the Maserati 5000GT, with the crystals that completely envelop the two seats. The GT can therefore be adapted to the needs of driving “en plein air” thanks to the cover that can be easily removed.

Also at the front, the aggressive grille stands out, including a large grille and a series of thin LED headlights with semicircular daytime running lights. At the rear, the unique optical signature stands out, with an LED light bar that occupies the entire tail from one wheel arch to the other. A little below a cantilevered element that houses the two large drains. To facilitate access to the trunk of the GranTurismo Targa, there is an opening glass cover.
