Marc Marquez At the Qatari Grand Prix I will not come in 100% formFebruary 8, 2019
Five-time and current MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez admitted that he will start the 2019 season in not the best physical shape.
Problems with the dislocation of the left shoulder pursued the Spanish motorcycle racer over the past few years and worsened at the end of the championship last year. In December, Marquez underwent surgery, after which he continues to recover.
“I will not have time to get back in shape by the start of the season in Qatar. But I hope that this does not become a serious problem, – says Marquez. – Nevertheless, there is still a whole month ahead, during which I will continue to work hard. After Qatar there will be a three-week break, so for the second stage of the season in Argentina, I expect to arrive in 100 percent form. That is my goal. Just need patience. ”
On the first day of the official winter tests in Sepang, Marquez showed the best time, but drove only 29 laps. The minimum distance – 37 laps – he overcame and on the second day.
“The pain does not prevent me from driving. But the problem is that if there is severe inflammation, then an additional week is needed for recovery. Therefore, I prefer to stop when I start to feel pain, ”- said the racer Repsol Honda.
