The management of the British manufacturer of home appliances Dyson has announced a decision to build in Singapore a new automobile enterprise, which will produce electric cars of its own design. This is the press service of the company.
At the moment, a two-storey complex has been designed, the construction of which will begin in December of this year, and will be completed in 2020. As previously reported, Dyson is investing in the new project £ 2 billion (about $ 2.5 billion). Half of this amount will be spent on the development of the car itself, and another – on the creation and production of batteries with solid electrolyte.
The fact that Dyson began developing his own car, it became known in the fall of 2017. Currently, about 400 people are involved in the project and about 300 more specialists should join it in the near future. The electric car will be developed exclusively by Dyson internal forces.
At the moment it is known that the first electric car Dyson will definitely not be a sports car and not a mass model like the Nissan Leaf or Renault Twiziy. Moreover, in the future, the ruler should be expanded to at least three models.
