Lynk & Co turns the Volvo XC90 into a new plug-in hybrid crossover 09April 19, 2021

At Auto Shanghai 2021, Geely Lynk & Co unveiled its new crossover, called 09. It is built on the same platform as the Volvo XC90. A sister company has revealed several details for the hybrid model.
The novelty shares a high headlight and a low radiator grille that set the brand apart from the competition. This is matched by a high waistline and sturdy two-drawer design. The silver stripe on the door makes the look memorable.
The car will be presented today, April 19, so the details are still not declassified. At the same time, it is known that the total power of the XC90 T8 AWD Recharge system reaches 386 hp. from its inline 4-cylinder super- and turbocharged engine mated to a 65 kW electric motor. It is powered by an 11.6 kWh battery located in the center of the vehicle’s transmission tunnel.

In February, Geely and Volvo announced that they would spin off their powertrains into a new company dedicated to supplying many of Geely’s brands. The brand will produce a new generation of internal combustion engines, powertrains and a two-engine hybrid system.
Lynk & Co 09 will be produced at the brand’s plant in Meishan, China. Serial production kicks off after debuting at Shanghai Auto 2021 this week.
