Luxury Rolls-Royce Phantom turned into a seven-meter armored carDecember 9, 2019
Over an unusual limousine, masters from the company Klassen, which has been specializing in armored limousines and SUVs for more than 20 years, have worked.
The German company Klassen introduced renderings of an armored limousine, the basis for which was the new generation Rolls-Royce Phantom. Atelier specialists were going to increase the wheelbase by a meter using a special insert (4822 mm vs 3772 mm) and protect the car in the highest class B7. Such ballistic protection will help the car survive the shelling from a Kalashnikov assault rifle and a sniper rifle. The armored limousine will cost the buyer a substantial amount of 3 million euros.
The basis for the armored car was the long-wheel Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB of the eighth generation. The overall length of such a car reaches a mark of 7,032 mm. Also, the modified Rolls-Royce Phantom relies on a protected bottom that can withstand a small explosion, and an additional partition between the driver and the rear row of seats.
The chassis was adapted to the new weight of the car, but no specific numbers are given in Klassen.
For the performance of the seven-meter armored car meets the standard 6.75-liter Twin-Turbo V12 with a return of 571 hp, combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The already rich list of Rolls-Royce Phantom options has been replenished with Klassen branded accessories: an Apple iMac-based multimedia center, spectacular backlighting and a premium Bang & Olufsen audio system.
