Luxury crossover Mercedes-Maybach GLS passes the final testsOctober 9, 2019
The appearance of a luxury mid-size crossover from the luxury brand Mercedes-Maybach at the Los Angeles Auto Show seems very likely (November of this year). Serial production of the machine starts next year.
It has been a long time since the German ultra-luxury Mercedes-Maybach crossover was shown as a concept and it must be said that the presentation impressed us. Subsequent “spy” snapshots of the car largely reveal the design features of the exterior of the new item. The only thing left behind the scenes is the appearance of the corner air vents in the front bumper and the Maybach signature badge.
It was no secret to anyone that the new crossover in the line of the premium Maybach brand will receive many similarities with the current SUV GLS – after all, it is based on this model. However, there are still some changes in appearance – the false radiator grille, as well as the front bumper, now look different.
There are much more smooth lines. In general, the front of the car matches the new GLS-Class crossover exterior, but has smaller corner air vents. At the rear, revised exhaust pipes appeared. And chrome elements will appear throughout the body.
At the moment, it is not known what will be under the hood of the new Maybach crossover. The presence of a 4.0-liter Twin-Turbo V8 engine is almost guaranteed – its power can vary from 460 to 480 hp. A plug-in hybrid powerplant with 480+ hp may also appear. But perhaps the most interesting is the possible 6.0-liter V12 engine.
Does this mean that the final presentation of the luxury crossover should happen in the very near future? We would say that the appearance of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS in the next
