Lucid sees no serious rival in TeslaOctober 26, 2020
The American electric car manufacturer Lucid has named its main competitor. To the surprise of many, this is not a Tesla.
In recent years, many young firms and start-ups have sprung up specializing in battery-powered machines. Many of them set ambitious plans for themselves, intending to bypass Tesla. Lucid, on the other hand, sees its main competitor in a completely different automaker.
The brand’s CEO, Peter Rawlinsau, believes Lucid will have to compete with Mercedes-Benz. Recently, the brand presented the electric car Lucid Air, making itself known in the segment of luxury cars. The novelty is already being compared with the Mercedes S-class.
In general, according to Rawlinson, the key parameter for modern electric cars will be their power reserve.
Many traditional automakers are introducing electric cars into their model lines, but they do not develop as quickly and, as a rule, lag behind in “range”. At the same time, Rawlinson noted that Lucid is ahead of Tesla in terms of efficiency.
Lucid previously unveiled the cost of its Air electric supercar. The presentation took place a little earlier, so the information about the price tag was very expected. Thanks to subsidies, such a car can be purchased somewhat cheaper than Tesla.
