Lucid first showed the production version of AirMay 1, 2020
Lucid Motors is on the threshold of its debut with the all-electric Air sedan. The conceptual image of this car has been circulating for many years, but now the brand seems to have quietly posted the finished version on the Internet.
3.5 years ago, Lucid Air appeared as a promising concept, thanks to which a very young brand hopes to gain market share Tesla Model S. Air will be a luxurious and ultramodern electric sedan with the necessary gadgets on board. Although Air, introduced in 2016, was still a concept version, Lucid did not identify the car as such. However, a teaser for the production version appeared earlier this year, so there seems to have been some change in the work.
Now, along with a photograph of Air, which looks a little different, Lucid announces the opening of order books for Air in the Middle East. Therefore, probably, before us is finally the serial version. As you can see on the teaser, Air shows a slight difference with the concept car. It seems that there is a slightly modified front bumper and fewer LEDs, and the rest of the Air can hardly be distinguished from the already known car. Since the premiere was planned for this month, we are likely to have the final form.
With Air, the ambitious US company hopes not only to offer a luxurious alternative to the Tesla Model S, but wants to compete even with cars like the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7 Series. Elements such as air suspension, semi-autonomous driving and a luxurious interior made of high quality materials should raise Air to this level.
According to the publication autoweek.nl, the power reserve of about 600 kilometers, acceleration to 100 km / h in 2.5 seconds, a top speed of 320 km / h, and the expected starting price of $ 60,000 Lucid Air is very impressive.
