As part of his recent interview, new Lotus Cars CEO Phil Popham spoke about the new model of the brand – this is a sports car that will join the existing Evora, Elise and Exige.
Mr Popham said that the brand-new Lotus sports car is part of the brand’s five-year plan led by Geely. Hypercar will be based on the existing Lotus architecture and will retain the famous driving dynamics. However, it will be more practical and more suitable for everyday use.
At the same time, Popam confirmed that all future Lotus models will eventually be electrified, however now this is not a priority for the brand. “At the moment, the focus is on replacing our previous models with completely new ones, meaning sport models,” he said.
