Look at the render of a hydrogen supercar with a range of 4,500 kilometersJanuary 8, 2021
The head of SCG is confident that such a car can be built
The owner of the American niche automaker Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) James Glickenhaus showed another interesting render. It depicts the SCG 009 Concept hydrogen car in a retro style, which will be able to travel more than 4.5 thousand kilometers at a single gas station.
The supercar’s exterior, which combines futurism and references to the 70s and 80s of the last century, is inspired by the creations of Sid Mead, an American artist who created concept art for the films Blade Runner, Aliens and Tron. The narrow stripe front end is reminiscent of a 1970 Lancia Stratos Zero and Ferrari Modulo hybrid with blind headlights, a front splitter and a large wing on the white stern.
The description does not reveal many details: it notes that the supercar will receive a power plant on hydrogen and a “Range NY-LA”. This may mean that one gas station will be enough for the journey from New York to Los Angeles, or 4.5 thousand kilometers.
While the 009 Concept is only a render, however, Glickenhouse is confident that through the efforts of SCG engineers, he will be able to find a physical embodiment with the stated power reserve.
In October, Glickenhouse shared new information about the 008 transformer buggy, which is a hybrid of the SCG 004 track coupe and the Boot buggy. The model will receive a democratic price tag and will be sold online – customers will receive a set of parts for self-assembly. In this case, the engine will have to be purchased separately.
