Unusual special equipment developed in Japan
Japanese exporter of used cars Pacific Coast Auto has unveiled an unusual lot – a fire truck based on a 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser pickup. Special vehicles are designed to work in small towns.
The unusual special equipment was based on the Japanese pickup 75 series Toyota Land Cruiser 1996, which was painted red. The vehicle was equipped with the necessary equipment, including a fire hose, pumps, a folding ladder and fire extinguishers. Special vehicles were also equipped with an additional bumper and off-road wheels.
Due to the fact that most Japanese roads are rather narrow, the new compact special equipment allows emergency services to easily reach the site of a fire. According to the creators of the car, such vehicles, in contrast to bulky fire trucks, are ideal for work in small cities. The average service life of such special equipment is about 20 years.
The firefighter Toyota Land Cruiser is equipped with a 4.2-liter V6 with 129 horsepower. The unit works in tandem with a five-speed manual transmission. Based on the odometer, a four-wheel drive vehicle has traveled 15,000 kilometers. The copy is currently being auctioned to a Texas buyer. The cost of the model was not disclosed.
At the end of June, the Lorinser Classic company, which specializes in the restoration of classic models, put up for sale a Gelandewagen fire engine built on the basis of a 1983 Mercedes-Benz 280 GE. Special equipment, which has served in the German fire service for 37 years, was estimated at 55,000 euros
