Live images of Toyota Yaris Cross have been published onlineJuly 23, 2020
On the Internet appeared “live” photos of the recently presented crossover Toyota Yaris Cross.
Although initially there were rumors that the new product would simply be a raised variation of the Yaris with a body kit made of unpainted plastic, in reality this turned out to be not the case, and the Yaris Cross is a standalone model with a unique appearance.
Compared to the simple Yaris, the cross is 240 mm longer (4180 mm), 20 mm wider (1715 mm) and 90 mm taller (1590 mm). The ground clearance has increased by 30 mm – up to 170 mm. The distance between the axles is the same – 2560 mm.
The new model is built on the same platform as the simple Yaris, but features an optional all-wheel drive system. The petrol version is equipped with a 120-horsepower 1.5-liter M15A-FKS engine. The THS-II hybrid consists of an M15A-FXE internal combustion engine, an electric motor, an eCVT variator transmission and a lithium-ion battery. The aggregate capacity of the unit is 116 hp.
The all-wheel drive system will be offered for a surcharge – this is an E-Four with an additional electric motor that transmits torque to the rear axle. Its activation occurs automatically when bad grip is detected.
Toyota Yaris Cross should appear in the Japanese car market in September this year. The cost of the new cross is still unknown.
