Lincoln showed rival Audi Q7November 28, 2018
Lincoln presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show a serial large crossover Aviator. The novelty will take place on a step below the Navigator model and will be designed to compete with the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE and Volvo XC90.
Commodity Aviator turned out to be similar to the eponymous concept car, which was shown in the spring of this year at the New York Auto Show. Distinctive features of the new steel LED headlights, a massive grille, as well as thin taillights, combined with a solid horizontal brake light strip.
Inside, they installed a fully digital dashboard and a large touch-screen display of the infotainment complex in a separate unit. The novelty became the first model of the American brand, in which an electronic key was used – access to the door locks, ignition and other functions of the car is carried out using a special application on the smartphone.
The crossover received an adaptive suspension that works in conjunction with a front camera that scans the pavement — based on the data obtained, the optimum stiffness settings are applied.
Lincoln Aviator will be available with both rear and all-wheel drive. The crossover is equipped with a three-liter six-cylinder engine with two turbines, developing 400 hp and 542 Nm of torque. Transmission – 10-speed automatic.
In the future, Lincoln Aviator will also be offered with a hybrid power plant with the ability to recharge batteries from a household electrical outlet. The total output of the units will be 450 hp and 813 Nm. Such a crossover will be able to move as exclusively on the electric, and using only the internal combustion engine. The remaining details about the hybrid are kept secret.
The new Lincoln Aviator will be sold in the North American market, as well as in China. Prices for a large crossover is not called.
