Lincoln MKZ sedan discontinuedAugust 8, 2020
The American automaker has announced that the sleek model has been completed. In the brand’s model range, it was a luxury, mid-size passenger car.
The life cycle of the Lincoln MKZ sedan ended on July 31, when the model left the factory assembly line. We will remind, sales of sedans of this brand bring good profit, but the company still decided to abandon MKZ.
This decision was made by the brand management at the beginning of this year and did not hide it. So the departure of the sedan did not come as a surprise to the fans of the brand. On the same day as the Lincoln MKZ, the Ford Hermosillo assembly plant left its “co-platform” – Ford Fusion. The foreign portal motor1.com writes about it.
Lincoln, speaking about its plans for the future, emphasizes that it wants to invest in growing segments of the car market. These are, for example, SUVs and electric cars. So, as part of the new strategy, the Americans will expand their model line: the public premiere of the Corsair Grand Touring hybrid SUV is expected at the end of 2020.
After the departure of the Lincoln MKZ, only one sedan remained in the automaker’s portfolio – the Continental. However, this model will not stay long in the current model line of the brand.
His departure, according to experts, is scheduled for the end of the year. The model is unlikely to survive longer.
