Liftback Volkswagen Arteon received a sports versionMarch 21, 2018
The company Volkswagen has added to its liftback Arteon sports package called R-Line. The car will be shown to the public at the Auto Show in New York on March 28 this year. Later, the German brand promises to show a full-fledged version of the liftback called Arteon R.
The R-Line package includes aggressive bumpers, a black spoiler, special shields, and 19- or 20-inch wheels. In the car there was a new steering wheel, as well as lining on thresholds and pedals of stainless steel. Almost all models of the German company receive similar improvements.
The novelty will be offered to customers with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with four cylinders. The power of the unit is 280 horsepower. The engine works in conjunction with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel drive system.
As for Arteon R, this modification will be equipped with a gasoline 3.0-liter turbo with six cylinders. The unit’s capacity is 410 horsepower. Also the novelty will be equipped with the all-wheel drive system and the latest generation Haldex clutch. The company stressed that the “flexibility” of the modular platform MQB allows the use of various units and the company has already created a prototype flagship model with a V6 engine.
In addition, Volkswagen’s management is discussing the possibility of releasing a new version of its flagship model Arteon – with the bodywork of the Shooting Brake. The likelihood of creating such a version of Arteon is quite high, but a final decision on this issue has not yet been made.
