Lexus will release an inexpensive and compact crossoverMay 11, 2020
In the lineup of Lexus corporation should appear cross BX, which will differ in small dimensions.
The new model will turn out to be more compact than the UX crossover, it will become the cheapest car in the brand line and will resemble the equipment previously shown Toyota Yaris Cross. The novelty will begin to be sold no earlier than 2023.
According to Autohome agency on Monday, May 11, the BX will become a bit larger than the Yaris Cross, and unlike its “relative”, it will receive an original body and will be able to boast of richer equipment. Cross BX will be built on the GA-B platform. Perhaps the body of the novelty will not be longer than 4.3 meters.
The novelty, most likely, will be equipped with a hybrid, which includes an atmospheric engine with a volume of 1.5 liters, an electric motor and a CVT transmission. Probably, the flagship modification will be equipped with an electric all-wheel drive system E-Four, which provides for the installation of a separate motor generator on the rear axle.
At the same time, the source of information about the new BX model was not disclosed, however, it was not the first time that rumors about expanding the model range of the Japanese brand appeared: the Japanese brand needed cross-sizes of various sizes to compete with the “big German three” models.
