Lexus Shows Prototype of the LC Series ConvertibleJuly 5, 2019
Novelty debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
In the UK, showed the Lexus LC Convertible with a folding roof. Representatives of the company called this copy a pre-production version, the design of which is as close as possible to the product version.
The appearance of an open version of the flagship coupe started talking back in January of this year, when Lexus brought a Show Convertible LC Convertible to the Detroit auto show. According to preliminary data, the cabriolet will get the same engines as the coupe: either an eight-liter naturally-aspirated engine with a return of 477 horsepower (540 Nm of torque), or a hybrid installation of 300 power (348 Nm of torque).
In Goodwood, the pre-production prototype was shown in dynamics: the car made a traditional rise to the hill, traditional for the Festival of Speed, and professional pilot Nick Cassidy was driving.
The company explained that participation in such events will help Lexus engineers to refine the convertible before the model appears on the market.
