Lexus RC F Track Edition 2020 will not be the last of its kindJanuary 28, 2019
Expect that the special edition Track Edition will be presented more than one year. The truth is that there is no information about which model will receive this update.
According to Cooper Eriksen, vice president of product planning and strategy for Lexus, the Lexus RC F Track Edition 2020 model year will not be the only one of its kind. As part of his interview before the start of the 24 Hours of Daytona endurance race in Daytona Beach, Florida (USA), Eriksen confirmed that Lexus plans to regularly release models in the Track Edition version.
“Currently, it is planned to create 60 copies of the RC F Track Edition coupe,” said Eriksen. “We intend to submit a version of the Track Edition and beyond.”
It is reported that the leadership of the Japanese premium brand holds what is called a “brainstorming” about how the new versions of production models will differ. Everything is considered, ranging from changing the color options of the body, to changing the technical characteristics. “We work closely with our engineers to figure out how the Track Edition might look like in the future.”
Mr. Eriksen also did not exclude the possibility of the appearance of Track Edition modifications for other Lexus models, and not only for the Lexus RC sports coupe. Given that now only the mid-size GS sedan has a “charged” modification from the Lexus F sports unit, it is possible that he will receive the Track Edition.
