Lexus is going to create a platform for electric vehicles and electrify its model line by 2025. This was reported by the publication “Digital Trends”. According to Lexus Vice President Koji Sato, the change of strategy will be accompanied by a number of difficulties that will require competent resolution. So, before switching to electric power plants, the brand will need to change the grille. And this is not a simple matter, because for many years it has been the hallmark of the automaker.
Work on a new design for environmentally friendly cars from Lexus is already underway, but this project has not yet received approval from the president of Toyota Motor Akio Toyoda.
With the first stylistic developments in this direction we will be able to get acquainted at the motor show in Tokyo, where Lexus is going to present its high-tech concept car.
Earlier, Audi announced its intention to immediately submit 30 electrified models by 2025. Interestingly, this kind of upgrade will affect all segments of the market – from compact cars to full-size class.
