Lexus LC has become a convertibleJanuary 11, 2019
Lexus introduced a conceptual version of the LC model with a convertible body. The public premiere of the experimental car will be held in mid-January at the Detroit Auto Show.
Externally, the prototype does not differ from the serial coupe – except for the lack of a roof and a modified rear end. Inside the concept car there were seats trimmed with white leather, black elements on the front panel and a yellow stitching. On the possibility of launching a series of open versions of Lexus LC is not reported.
Recall, the standard coupe Lexus LC is equipped with a five-liter atmospheric engine V8, outstanding 477 horsepower. In addition, a hybrid powerplant version is available, consisting of a 3.5-liter V6 engine, an electric motor and a set of lithium-ion batteries. In total, the units give out 355 hp.
As part of the Detroit Motor Show, there will also be a premiere of the extreme track version of the Lexus RC F sports coupe, which will be called Track Edition. New will differ from the standard car lightweight design with carbon fiber hood, roof and rear wing. In general, the aerodynamic “plumage” of the sports car will be performed in the style of the RC F GT coupe, which in 2015 took part in competitions on the high-speed ascent to Mount Pikes Peak.
Presumably Lexus RC F Track Edition will receive a modernized five-liter V8 unit with an improved oil system, as well as modified cooling and exhaust. As expected, the engine performance will exceed the standard 473 liters. with. and 528 Nm of torque.
