Lexus LC 500 and Ford Mustang Bullit fight in dragJanuary 9, 2021
Lexus LC 500 and Ford Mustang Bullit with 5.0 V8 engines competed on a straight line
YouTube channel carwow organized a drag race between the rear-wheel drive two-doors Lexus LC 500 and Ford Mustang Bullit. The competitors have identical in characteristics “atmospheric” V8 with a volume of 5.0 liters – both develop 460 horsepower and 530 Nm. Traditionally, the winner was determined based on the results of four races.
The luxurious Lexus LC 500 coupe is 110 kilograms heavier than its rival and costs one and a half times more in Great Britain (from 90 thousand pounds sterling). The advantage of the Japanese sports car is the 10-speed automatic.
Ford Mustang Bullit is a special version of the American pony car, which is equipped with an uncontested 6-speed manual transmission, more efficient brakes and an adaptive suspension. In Europe, the output of the V8 engine is lower than in the US, and the price of the model is higher: the coupe is estimated at 60 thousand pounds sterling.
In the race from a standstill to 402 meters, the eight-cylinder coupes showed very close results: even the photo-finish could not determine the winner. However, in other disciplines, the struggle did not work: it began to rain, and the duels ended unequivocally.
