Lexus introduced sedan LS 2021 model yearJuly 7, 2020
The Japanese brand introduced an updated version of the full-size sedan Lexus LS. The novelty has received more comfort and technology.
The Japanese brand introduced the sedan LS 2021 model year. It will be difficult for you to notice changes in its exterior, because the flagship luxury sedan has not changed much. A new body color has appeared called Gin-ei Luster (extraordinary silver – approx. Edition) with a smooth mirror texture.
The headlights look a little different than before because the LS uses an adaptive high beam system, originally introduced in the 2019 RX crossover. Lexus also redesigned the front bumper to add a vertical character line at both corners, while a large radar sensor module is located on the huge false radiator grille.
The interior has not essentially changed. The LS 2021 has a high resolution display for the digital rearview mirror. The center console now houses a switch that can control a 12.3-inch screen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The adaptive suspension has been optimized to provide a smoother ride, the anti-roll bars and engine mounts have been improved.
Even seat covers now have deeper stitch points along with low-resistance urethane filler for seat cushions to increase comfort. They say that the seats are softer than before, and are better able to absorb vibration.
Lexus claims that the LS 500 with conventional drive has increased low-speed torque and a faster gearbox. And in the LS 500h hybrid version, the electric motor turns on more often than before, for better acceleration. Both use updated active noise canceling and engine mute systems.
The Lexus Teammate will debut on the revised LS as a suite of driver assistance systems, including a parking assistance function, automatically controlling steering, acceleration, braking and gear shifting. As soon as you start driving, the system with its cameras and ultrasonic sensors additionally helps the driver by keeping the car in the lane, changing lanes, maintaining a certain distance from the car in front and providing assistance when overtaking other vehicles.
Sales of the updated LS sedan will begin in Japan by the end of 2020, and the new product will arrive in international markets next year.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that Lexus has patented a new version of the next-generation IS sedan. Japanese premium brand registered a new brand name IS500. It is expected that this is the most powerful version of the next generation IS sedan, which will receive a powerful V8 engine.
