The debut of the updated Lexus IS sports sedan, which will go on sale as a novelty of the 2021 model year, is still delayed – if earlier, the company management planned to show the novelty on June 9, now the presentation has been postponed to the 16th. The company did not provide any reasons for delaying the deadlines for an additional week.
A couple of minutes ago, the Lexus press service released a teaser video showing us more details about the new IS. The video lasts only five seconds.
The video captures the high-performance IS350 F Sport – the icon of this version is visible on the wings and in the rear of the car. The rims, which got a sophisticated design, are covered in Bridgestone Potenza tires.
A view of the rear wings shows that there are polished metal elements around the windows, and they reach the “sharp” end at the central pillar. The fuel tank door has a trapezoidal shape.
The taillights extend across the entire width of the rear of the body, including a thin strip of the central part. At the edges of the lamps have “sharp” points. This version of the F Sport has a small spoiler around the edge of the boot lid.
Lexus has not yet revealed much technical information about the new IS. Rumor has it that under the hood of the new items will be a modernized 3.5-liter V6 with a capacity of 311 hp. or the choice will be made in favor of a new power plant.
Lexus plans to broadcast the presentation of the new generation IS sedan on June 16 at 19:00 Eastern time (11:00 GMT). It is reported that Lexus does not intend to sell the IS 2021 model year in Europe, because this “region” prefers the company’s crossovers, rather than sedans.
