Lexus confirmed the new LM minivan official teaser and announcementApril 9, 2019
A week later, a new model from a premium brand will be presented at the Shanghai Motor Show. The car will be built on the basis of the current version of the Toyota Alphard minivan.
The press service of Lexus decided not to make a secret of the fact that it is going to release a new model of the minivan. Earlier, there were only speculations and rumors on the Web, but thanks to the press service and the first teaser, the information was fully confirmed. In China, the company has already registered two modifications: LM350 and LM300h. According to preliminary information, Lexus LM will be built on the basis of the Toyota Alphard.
As a power unit will be used 3.5-liter V6 engine, capable of developing up to 300 horsepower. There will also be available a hybrid version with a 2.5-liter turbo engine at 197 horsepower, paired with an electric motor. Other details yet, but the presence of a mechanical transmission or all-wheel drive can be questioned.
For all the teasers available, it can be understood that the Lexus LM will receive a branded grille in a spindle style, as well as with LED DRLs in a special “L” -shaped style. The new image shows the side silhouette of a minivan, where you can see a small hood, a low roof and a flat back.
The presentation of the model will be held April 16, 2019 at the Shanghai Motor Show. The release date of the serial version is still unknown.
