Legacy Overland restored military Mercedes G-WagenJune 15, 2020
Legacy Overland has breathed a second life into the former German SUV Mercedes G-Wagen.
The military G-Wagen is equipped with a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder OM602 diesel engine, a 5-speed manual transmission, as well as front and rear lockable differentials. So, the specialists of the American company restored the engine, installed a new fuel pump from Bosch, and also worked on the transmission and transfer case.
In addition, Legacy Overland upgraded the suspension of the car, and equipped it with Bilstein shock absorbers, in particular, all bolts, nuts and bearings were galvanized.
As noted on Sunday, June 14, in an American company, the G-Wagen SUV, painted in green, reminiscent of its military past, received LED headlights, additional lights, rear LED lights, a snorkel and 16-inch wheels on which “Dressed” tires Cooper Adventurer STT Pro dimension 265/75 R16.
Significant updates have occurred in the interior of the SUV. There were leather front seats and a rear leather sofa. They have a combined color of black and brown. In addition, a cup holder trimmed with leather and floor mats with fiber coating were installed here.
The company’s specialists also reviewed the dashboard, added an air conditioning system, a Pioneer MVH-S310BT audio system with 4 speakers and Bluetooth, as well as a Dynamat soundproofing system under the floor.
The cost of restoring the Mercedes G-Wagen at Legacy Overland is not currently known.
