Latifi appointed reserve rider WilliamsDecember 4, 2018
Canadian Nicolas Latifi will take the place of the reserve rider instead of Kubica in the next Formula 1 season.
Last season the driver held a similar position, but in the team Force India, which from next year will be called Racing Point F1. Latifi took part in her tests for three days and performed several times on Friday training races.
In the team from Grou, he was promised one day of tests before the championship, three days of tests during him and six Friday training sessions.
In the past three years, the pilot drove in Formula 2. He won two races in the series with the best result in 2017 – then he finished fifth. In the current year, following the results of the race, he ranks ninth.
Latifi managed to earn a total of 24 points out of 40 needed to get the Superlicense. Most likely he will remain in F-2 in order to get a chance to participate in Formula 1.
