Large crossover HiPhi 1 announced a new player in the segment of electric carsAugust 11, 2020
Chinese startup Human Horizons was founded two years ago. At the end of July 2019, the young company presented a new brand called HiPhi. She already has a “firstborn” – the prototype HiPhi 1, ready for release.
A concept version of this electric crossover, which got nine doors at once, debuted a year earlier. Now it became known that the large electric car will receive serial production next year.
The six-seater crossover is positioned as a “smart” premium electric vehicle. The emu relies on a pair of electric motors – the power of each of them reaches 272 hp, as well as a battery, whose capacity varies from 84 or 96 kWh. Without recharging, the electric car will be able to cover more than 600 kilometers, and it will accelerate to “hundreds” in just 3.9 seconds, despite its size. So, the cross reaches 5.2 meters in length, and its width reaches two meters.
Weighs HiPhi 1, a year after the public premiere renamed HiPhi X, over two tons. The drive can be rear or full.
The electric car does not have traditional door handles. Instead, the brand will offer customers an automatic door opening system based on face recognition technology. The car will receive a third level autopilot. More than 560 different sensors are responsible for the autonomy of the machine. At the same time, an electric car, due to advanced electronics, can constantly learn: it is able to memorize habits, predict the desires of the driver and his passengers, and also make decisions independently.
The electric novelty is based on the HOA (Human Oriented Architecture) skateboard platform.
Inside the car, we see an abundance of screens of various sizes. Among them are three main ones: a 15-inch virtual dashboard, a 16.9-inch central display and a 20-inch screen for the front passenger. By the way, instead of mirrors, the developers again used displays.
As for the future HiPhi lineup, it will be formed quite quickly. According to specialized media reports, the company is working on several prototypes at once. The world debut of the large electric car HiPhi 1 / HiPhi X will be organized at the end of September at the Beijing Motor Show. The production of “pilot” electric cars can begin this year. But the first deliveries should not be expected earlier than the 1st half of 2021.
