Land Rover will revive Freelander, making it a very small crossoverApril 20, 2018
Within the next four years, Land Rover will release several new models at once. According to the publication Autocar, one of them will be a compact crossover, “reviving spirit” Freelander, but smaller than the original model.
The basis for this machine will be a modernized and shortened version of the D8 platform. It is built Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque and Jaguar E-Pace. At the same time, the manufacturer is considering the possibility of constructing three versions of an off-road vehicle: a utility vehicle that will go into the Defender lineup, the usual Land Rover and the luxury Range Rover.
It is expected that the length of the novelty will not exceed 4200 millimeters (the length of Freelander of the first generation is 4420 millimeters). Compete the smallest SUV Land Rover will be with Audi Q2, Jeep Renegade and MINI Countryman. The model will be released on the market no earlier than 2021.
Earlier it became known that in the Land Rover Defender lineup there will be a pickup truck with a single cab. The model will compete with the Mercedes-Benz X-Class and will receive several versions – from utilitarian to luxurious.
