Land Rover is preparing the largest Land Rover DefenderMarch 7, 2021
Land Rover is currently working on a longer version of the Defender 110 called the Defender 130. Brand sources confirm the model will be on the market within a year and a half.
Official information and photos of the Defender 130 are not yet available, but it doesn’t take a lot of imagination to figure out what it will look like. The 130 has the same 3.02 meter wheelbase as the 110, but its length increases by 82.3 cm to 5.1 meters. Defender 110 is 4.76 meters long without a spare wheel. The Defender 130 is said to have 7 seats as standard. The Defender 110 is also available in a seven-seater configuration, but presumably the 130 rear passengers will get more space and be able to carry more luggage. The model should be on the market within a year and a half. Prices and engine range will be announced after the official debut.
In any case, the Land Rover Defender 130 is historically justified because the previous model was also available as a 130 version. It only had a longer wheelbase than the 110, as opposed to the intended successor. With the Defender, Land Rover is primarily targeting North America, China and the Middle East. By the way, the Defender 130 is most likely not the latest version of the body of the current Defender. Land Rover is reportedly working on a pickup truck.
