A render has appeared on the web that shows what a new generation Land Rover Defender would look like in a pickup body. In the design style of the novelty, you can notice the features of the original second generation Defender.

When you think of a full-size pickup truck, names like Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150 or Ram 1500 probably come to mind. However, there are several competitors to these American trucks from foreign brands such as Nissan Titan and Toyota Tundra. In his spare time, freelance designer Andrew Alevin decided to envision what a British Land Rover Defender could become if it became a truck.

The design of the virtual novelty retains the signature elements of the original Defender SUV, such as chiseled lines with square vertical lines. Nevertheless, the pickup received its own design features.

“I’ve always been a fan of the first generation British Defender SUV, but with the cute new styling of the current Defender, I wanted something more,” Alevin wrote to his render description.

At the front, the classic round headlights with smaller bulbs next to them transform into four huge headlamps that are on each side. The design also includes an LED strip in the lower bumper above the winch, while another is on the top of the windshield.

Alevin doesn’t specify what kind of powerplant should be under the hood of such a Defender, but the snorkel on the driver’s side suggests it’s an internal combustion engine. However, a false radiator grille with an inward slope can limit the space in the engine compartment for a large and correspondingly powerful motor.

There’s no waiting around for the new Land Rover Defender pickup. The British automaker believes the standard SUV offers a lot of cargo space and does not want to create competition in the commercial truck market.

Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that a prototype of a Land Rover Defender SUV with a V8 engine was seen at the Nurburgring. Foreign publications have published photos with a test prototype of the Land Rover Defender SUV with a V8 engine. At the moment, there is no exact data on what exactly this engine will be.
