Land Rover celebrates the sale of one million Range Rover SportFebruary 7, 2021
The British automaker has decided to celebrate the sale of one million Land Rover Range Rover Sport SUVs. A video has been published showing the main achievements of the full-size SUV.
In its official video, the British carmaker, owned by Indian company Tata, celebrates one million sales of the Range Rover Sport SUV. The automaker notes that the Land Rover Range Rover Sport has been on the market for more than 15 years. Introduced in 2004 as a concept called the Range Stormer, the Range Rover Sport has become one of the best-selling Land Rover SUVs of all time.
Summing up its activities, Land Rover looks back at its achievements in previous years.
It was separately noted that this SUV received the title of the fastest SUV of the Nurburgring in 2014 – the high-performance version of the model, the Range Rover Sport SVR, was able to complete a full circle of the race track in 8 minutes and 14 seconds. The video also shows the iconic car ascending to the Gate of Heaven (venerable place in China – editor’s note) in a Range Rover Sport PHEV. The car was able to climb 999 steps.
More importantly, test prototypes of the next generation Range Rover Sport have already been spotted on the road last year, with the 2022 SUV expected to debut later this year. As of this writing, there is no specific information on the next Range Rover Sport, but a large number of electrified powertrains can be expected to appear.
