Lancia with debut V6 series engine will be sold at a private auction

The Sotheby’s auction house put up for auction the Lancia Aurelia B24S Spider America sports car, which was prepared by Pininfarina ateliers.

The Roadster, which was released in 1955, has a Fontana hardtop, and the V6 engine also has a debut mass engine of this type. Estimated price of the lot – $ 1.25 million

Lancia Aurelia B24 debuted at the Brussels auto show in 1995. Structurally, the model resembled a B20 coupe, but had a smaller wheelbase. For 9 months, 240 cars were produced, of which only 181 had a steering wheel on the left side. The open version of Aurelia was distinguished by the presence of a panoramic windshield, divided in two by a chrome bumper, removable side windows and a body of Pininfarina atelier.

 The auctioned model has a low hardtop Fontana, for simple roadsters it was soft, a Nardi inlet and a Weber 2-chamber carburetor. Aurelia acquired a rare roof after the restoration was completed in 1998, as well as a body repainted in blue Azzuro color and a dark blue leather interior.

  The last owner of the sports car changed the brakes, gearbox, electrics, and also restored the spoke wheels and metal components.

  Lancia Aurelia B24S Spider America is equipped with a 2.5-liter V6 engine, which is the debut serial power unit with a V-shaped scheme and 6 cylinders with a capacity of 118 hp. at 5300 rpm. Together with the engine, a 4-speed manual transmission is installed, which was installed according to the transaxel scheme. In addition, Aurelia was equipped with an independent suspension and internal brake elements of the rear wheels.
