Lamborghini presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show its first ever hybrid sports car called Sian, which means lightning. The novelty will be released in a limited edition of 63 copies, which are all already sold out. The price of the car was $ 2.5 million.

The car is based on the Aventador SVJ sports car. The design of the model resembles the concept of Terzo Millennio. Weight distribution on the axles – 43:57. The wheelbase of the machine is 2700 millimeters. The car received retractable wing, a glass cover of the engine compartment, Y-shaped headlights and a carbon fiber body. The company said that the car received “a futuristic design combined with outstanding aerodynamic solutions that represent the heart and soul of Lamborghini.”

The composition of the hybrid power plant included a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine with a return of 775 horsepower. This motor is also used on the Aventador SVJ. The unit works in conjunction with an electric motor with a capacity of 34 horsepower and a seven-speed automatic transmission. The total return of the car is 819 horsepower. Traction is transmitted to all wheels.

Accelerating a Lamborghini Sian from zero to one hundred takes less than 2.8 seconds. The maximum speed exceeds 350 km per hour. In these parameters, the novelty does not differ from the Aventador SVJ. At the same time, acceleration from 30 to 60 km / h and from 70 to 120 km / h takes Sian 0.2 and 1.2 seconds less thanks to the new energy saving system. The system is not powered by a lithium-ion battery – for the first time a supercapacitor is used for this. The device is located between the passenger capsule and the engine for better weight distribution.

The supercapacitor is three times more powerful and three times lighter than a conventional battery. You can replenish energy with each braking using a special recovery system. It can be used to increase power during acceleration at speeds up to 130 km per hour. This innovation is a proprietary development of Lamborghini engineers.
