Lamborghini Huracan Performante challenges the Porsche 911 Turbo SSeptember 2, 2019
Carwow’s YouTube bloggers duel between the Porsche 911 Turbo S version 991.2 and the “charged” Lamborghini Huracan Performante. Both four-wheel drive supercars are equipped with 7-speed robotic transmissions and debuted with a difference of a year: the updated 911 Turbo S in 2016, the Huracan Performante in 2017.
The rivals are close in technical specifications: both reach the first “hundred” in 2.9 seconds, the maximum speed of duelists exceeds 325 kilometers per hour, both are equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes.
Despite the larger 5.2-liter V10 under the hood, the Huracan Performante is 220 kilograms lighter than the 911 Turbo S. In addition, the atmospheric 640-horsepower Lamborghini engine is 60 horsepower more powerful than the 3.8-liter boxer “six” »Porsche. The advantage of the German sports car is its torque: the Porsche engine develops 700 Nm, and the Lamborghini power plant is 100 Nm less.
Duelists fought in three races: in the first case, cars started from a place a quarter mile away, the second race took place “on the move” from an initial speed of 40 miles per hour (64 kilometers per hour), and the third test compared the stopping distance from a speed of 70 miles per hour (113 kilometers per hour).
A quarter mile of VAG supercars passed with a difference of 0.1 seconds, and in the braking of rivals they shared only half the hull.
