Lamborghini has released a jubilee crossover UrusJuly 20, 2021
It took only three years for the Lamborghini Urus to become the company’s most produced model ever.
This may come as a surprise and perhaps a disappointment to purists, but Lamborghini has now brought SUV production to the fore. During June of this year, specialists from Sant’Agata Bolognese collected 2,796 Urus units, which is 35% more than in the first half of 2020. The super SUV outperformed the Huracan and Aventador combined, with sales of 1,532 and 524 respectively.
January-June 2021 was the best first semester for Lamborghini, and now the legendary Italian brand has yet another reason to celebrate. Three years after the start of production, the Urus has reached an important milestone of 15,000 units. And the jubilee specimen was collected this week. The high-performance SUV with V8 and Grigio Keres Matt trim with contrasting Verde Scandal accents and Nero Ade / Verde Scandal two-tone interior has made its way to a UK buyer.
Urus is gearing up to receive many updates as part of its interim restyling. Its 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine is likely to be bumped up to more than its current output of 641 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. In the meantime, engineers are preparing a plug-in hybrid version, as even small-run brands like the Lambo are not immune to increasingly stringent emissions regulations.
In addition to increasing power and creating a PHEV version, the Urus is expected to receive the “charged” version of the ST-X, which the Italians have been talking about for almost three years. The most practical Lamborghini ever has been updated with the new ‘Graphite Capsule’ color scheme that is characteristic of this iconic car.
