Lamborghini announced a joint project with a young Los Angeles street artist, Skyler Gray. A few years ago, Gray became a real sensation in the world of art: the nineteen-year-old American became famous as the youngest artist ever exhibited in major museums around the world. And it was he who was entrusted with painting the Lamborghini Aventador S, which will debut at Car Week in Monterey, California.

In her work, Skyler Gray combines American pop culture and luxury and fashion icons: in his paintings Wonder Woman, Papay, Olive Oil and Mickey Mouse are adjacent to the Chanel, Hermes and Louis Vuitton logos. The artist is often compared to Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat and is called the “New Prince of Street Art”.

Lamborghini Aventador S with a V12 engine with a capacity of 740 horsepower acted as a “canvas” in Gray’s new project. The artist painted yellow, dark orange and white colors on the body of a hypercar, including using the drip painting technique, and painted bulls on the sides of the car. Not without reference to the work of Warhol and his famous cans of Campbell soup.

The other day it became known that Lamborghini is in no hurry to release a new Aventador – the successor of the model will go on sale only in 2024. The postponement of the launch dates is due to contradictions between the Italian brand and the parent Volkswagen Group, which does not want to invest in adapting the 6.5-liter V12 to tougher environmental standards and proposes to replace the atmospheric engine with a hybrid powerplant with a 4.0-liter V8 at the base.
